On Stand-by
During this stand-by time only family, people that work with me and very close friends will have to “endure” my presence. I’ll have no goals during this stand-by time, I’ll take no decisions and I’ll avoid meeting new people.
I need this time to think, I don’t need to take a vacation to think, but I need to stop all that isn’t completely indispensable. I’ll try to do the best I can at my job (although I’m starting to think that my best at that job isn’t good enough), and finish my masters.
Everything else will be in stand-by, until I decide to take it off stand-by... including this blog

Just saw a film
So I took an advice someone gave me and rented Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind (well... with this home video stuff, I don’t know what to call it). It’s a very beautiful film that tells the love story of a couple, a couple with problems like every other couple that exist... the problem with this film is that I ended up wanting to have those kind of problems, ended up wanting someone by my side to share and solve those problems.
I think I would very much appreciate, having someone to do that in this particular stage of my life... curiously I say this without that kind of dramatic tone that usually accompanies a statement like this. It comes more just like an affirmation, an acceptance of a reality that isn’t although I would like it to be.
The film also ends with a cover of a music that I like a lot. Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime from Korgis, although here the cover is from Beck.

London... and other things.
First let me say that I’ve just found my cd of Suzanne Vega... and so I may be a bit nostalgic while writing this (Yes hearing Caramel still makes me mellow).
So London was the vacation I needed. It really was. Seeing other people, hearing a different language, eating new food, riding a different underground and even smelling different smells...
Walking through London makes me relax and “de-stress”. Being able to enter museums almost in every corner, and finding a Gustav Klimt or a Picasso just hanging there, crossing the river and finding an Andy Warhol or a Kandinsky and then turning back and entering a 17th century cathedral.
The truth is that I’m able to do similar things in Lisbon... but here it’s all familiar, there everything is different.
Now that I had those three days off, I need two weeks of beach, sand and sun. Just doing nothing for those two weeks will “recharge my batteries” for the next twelve months.
